Mark Hodgson to join the Queen Mary 2 for her maiden voyage.
It was announced today that musician Mark Hodgson will be joining the
prestigious QM2 on her maiden voyage which leaves Southampton for Fort
Lauderdale on January 12th, 2004.
The Queen Mary 2 has been one of the most highly anticipated new cruise
ships for the past five years. The QM2 is the largest, longest, tallest,
widest, and most expensive ocean vessel ever built.
Mark has already flown out to France to join the ship, where he will
lead his jazz trio in the sumptuous Commodore Club, with its wrap-around
panorama of ocean and moonlit sky.
Her Majesty The Queen will name the Queen Mary 2 during a spectacular
ceremony in Southampton on Thursday, January 8, 2004. The QM2 will
sail
to Fort Lauderdale on her maiden voyage and spend the winter in
the Caribbean. A special highlight of Queen Mary 2’s inaugural
schedule will be her maiden eastbound crossing from New York on April
25 as both
Queen Mary 2 and Queen Elizabeth 2 will sail in tandem. This day will
be the first time two Cunard Queens will have berthed in the port together
since March 1940.
